8 May 2018: Soil and the Value of Compost

At our next meeting Ray Cornish will be continuing on from last month’s talk on soils. After a short re-cap of soil, Ray will discuss the effects of nutrients on plants and how these nutrients are taken up and used . Also covered will be the value of compost to the soil, what nutrients are in composts, and what happens to the soil when this organic matter is decomposed. The value of worm castings? There will also be a Q&A on compost heaps, so if you are having any problems with your compost, just want to know how to begin or the best designs and types, this is the opportunity to get some expect advice.
